Frankfurt's Daichi Kamada once again enjoyed a successful season as he helped Frankfurt to a Europa League win.

The 2021/22 season has once again saw multiple talents rise up the pecking order and leave their mark on football. The likes of Mbappe and Haaland have once again shown their quality, with the likes of Nkunku and Vinicius Junior also catching the eyes of people across the world in both their respective leagues and Champions League. But here I will take a look at some of the names who may have gone under the radar.

Daichi Kamada

Frankfurt's 25 year old creative midfielder was snapped up 5 years ago from Japanese side Sagan Tosu, and was thrust into the Frankfurt first team set up in the 2019/20 season after successful loan spell back in Japan. The Japanese international went on to make 27 Bundesliga appearances, but it was in the Europa League where Kamada really excelled as he contributed to 8 goals in 10 games. The following season, Kamada contributed 14 assists in the Bundesliga, finishing 3rd for assists in the league. And this season, Kamada has once again shown his pedigree in the Europa League, contributing to 6 goals and gaining plaudits from his intelligent movement as Frankfurt went on to win the Europa League. An impressive season like Kamada's has no doubt caught the eye of clubs around Europe and England, and hopefully we'll soon be able to see him in England.

cameron carter-vickers

It was a steal from Celtic when they picked up Cameron Carter-Vickers to reinforce their defence. The American international has been known as somewhat of a journeyman since he emerged at Tottenham. He endured an enjoyable spell on loan at Sheffield United back in 2017, however loans since have not been so fruitful. A loan spell at Bournemouth last season saw him struggle to establish himself as a regular in the Cherries' back line, that was until Jonathan Woodgate's appointment where he became a regular and formed a handy partnership with fellow centre back Steve Cook. His impressive performances then earned him a transfer to Postecoglou's Celtic where he helped Celtic to 19 clean sheets as they conceded just 22 goals on their way to winning the league. It has already been reported that the 24 year olds performances in Scotland have caught the eye of former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, who will look to tighten his leaky defence, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Cameron Carter-Vickers playing Premier League football next season.

Ellis simms

Carrying on the Scottish theme, another player who has made an impact in Scotland is Ellis Simms. After aiding Blackpool to promotion to the Championship via the playoffs with 12 goal contributions, the striker was spotted in the Everton set up for their pre-season tour. And due to injuries, Simms made his Premier League debut in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea, where he played for 62 minutes before being subbed off. The Englishman's performances earned him a loan move to highflying Hearts as he contributed towards 8 goals in all competitions in Scotland as Hearts put themselves in a shout of European football. Simms' next destination may well be a return to Scotland with Rangers reportedly interested in the Englishman's services, or there may still be time for a Championship club to hijack the deal.

Arnaut danjuma

I couldn't go a whole article without mentioning Danjuma could I? An impressive season in the Championship at Bournemouth last season earned the Belgian a big money move to Villareal, and after going from strength to strength in Spain with 20 goal contributions and making the Champions League team of the season, Danjuma has already attracted Manchester United and Liverpool, as another big move seems just around the corner.

Speaking of Danjuma, his replacement has also enjoyed a successful season. The academy graduate has established himself as a regular in the Bournemouth team this season having been on the fringes last season. 8 goals and 6 assists from the winger have helped Bournemouth to promotion, and it will be interesting to see how he will fare in the Premier League next season and whether he will keep his place in Scott Parker's side.
